Cookie Policy

Optional cookies are switched off until you accept them. You can change your decision whenever you like — nothing is buried in a settings menu.

These are required for the service to work, so under PECR they do not need consent. We only use what is genuinely essential.

• Authentication session — keeps you signed in. Lasts for the session, or persistently if you tick “Remember me”, until you sign out.
• Security and abuse prevention — protects sign-in and payment flows. Session length.
• Consent record — stores the choices you make on the cookie banner so we do not ask again. 12 months.
• Partner referral — a short-lived cookie set when you arrive via a partner link so the right partner is credited. 30 days.

If you allow analytics, we record anonymous, aggregated usage events — plans generated, features opened, errors hit — so we can fix faults and see which features actually help. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell this data. Retained for 24 months, then deleted.

If you allow personalisation, we remember your plans, pantry contents, swaps and ratings across devices so suggestions get better over time. Turning this off does not delete data you have saved in your account — it stops us using device storage to tailor suggestions.

• Advertising or retargeting cookies.
• Cross-site tracking pixels or data brokers.
• Sharing your shopping habits with supermarkets for marketing.

Payments are handled by Stripe, which may set cookies on its own checkout pages for fraud prevention. Our cloud hosting, database and authentication provider sets the session storage described above. Each acts under a written processor agreement, and transfers outside the UK rely on adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum.

You can block or delete cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage will stop you staying signed in and some features will not work. Clearing site data also clears your consent record, so the banner will appear again on your next visit.
